SUN Cellular Tricks Their Customers....Beware...

I have been a SUN user of almost three years, but I have very rarely bought their deals because of some very bad experiences I had in availing them.  I would often buy regular loads of 150 and stretch it out for two weeks because I don't trust the deals of SUN.  You see, I once availed of the CTU100 in order to call someone who is residing in Cebu.  Now, the CTU100 has the following features (see below):  It really is not a great deal.  Come to think of it,   The CTU30 has better features because we can call other networks.     So I bought the CTU100 once, but when I tried calling my mother, my regular load was subtracted.  That was a wake up call for me.

I complained about it in one of the small outlets of SUN in the outskirts of Manila, the manager of the said outlet said it's difficult to follow up and check because it's been three weeks already.  The  confirmation is still in my phone though.  If he only exercised due diligence, he will try to find out and check my complaint,  But he in effect just ignored my report.   I find this really difficult to swallow because SUN apparently does not have any concern for its users.  Leave a message in their Facebook page and they would not even reply.

Prices of prime commodities have skyrocketed these days especially now with the tax reforms, and people try to save up every penny and find ways to be economical.  Sadly, SUN is not really helping its consumers or clientele.

If you are a SUN user, beware.  When you dial *247# to check their deals, be careful when clicking the numbers because you might unwittingly buy their supposedly "hot deals."  This actually happened to me.   I have P150 regular load and I wanted to check what deals I can find which is not the CTU100.   Among the options were:  Buy Hot Deals --  i did not know what this option was --  so I clicked it.  I was expecting a list of more hot deals.  I did not expect to be automatically buying a hot deal which apparently today was CTU100.  You see in Globe, when you click on a product, you have a choice which is to find out more about the product or to purchase the product.  It's not automatic.  I think this is fair in the interest of the consumer.

So just imagine my dismay when all I wanted was to find out what hot offers SUN has only to be automatically purchasing their hot deals.   This is a tricky marketing practice and it deserves to be looked into by the NTC.

So guys, if you are using SUN, and if you had the same experience, please don't be quiet.  We should protect other consumers.   Report such malpractices to the NTC.
