The trick in driving firstly, is to be calm and relaxed at all times. This is what I learned after the first two hours with my instructor. Don't let nerves get through you.  Breathe in and relax when you get behind the wheel.  Also, it pays for you to master footwork. Even when you are not driving always practice your left foot by imagining it pressing  clutch, and your right foot pressing break, and gas. You can also make an improvised gear stick so that you can coordinate your footwork with your arm movements.  This will help you gain confidence when you get behind the wheel.  I practiced my footwork first for an hour. Imagining me behind the wheel and driving.  Later, I imagined moving the gear stick according to my footwork.  It did help a lot in terms of making me feel more relaxed and feel more confident.  I also watched some youtube videos that made me feel  more relaxed and gave me more confidence.

People think having the ability to speak another language is cool.  Well, it is cool, but they just don't realize the amount of work that is spent in order to be fluent at a different language.  Admittedly, there are many advantages in being able to speak other languages.  Nowadays, people who are bilingual, have more job opportunities.  When a friend of mine went to work in Korea, I told her while you are there, you should learn another skill.  I encouraged her to study Korean language, which she did.  She studied earnestly, until she became almost like a native speaker,  By the way, she stayed for almost six years in Korea, working different odd jobs.  Until one day, she saw in the Internet, one BPO hiring a CSR who can communicate in Korean or Hanguk.  She saw it as an opportunity.   So she searched some more openings and she found out that it is not just one BPO, there are more BPOs looking for Korean speakers.    ...

It's Cinemalaya season again, and it means we can enjoy seeing productions from independent filmmakers. Cinemalaya is a break from the movies with usual popular themes because in Cinemalaya, directors are after of the recognition of their directorial talents and skills.  That means there is no pressure to rake in profits for commercial producers.  So this is the time to really see great and aritistically created productions.  The good thing about Cinemalaya productions is that nowadays, mainstream actors and actresses are also interested in showcasing their talents for directors who want to join the Cinemalaya because it seems that they are taken more seriously if they become a part of a Cinemalaya production.  But that is just my interpretation. It is good to be in the opening day or premiere of participating movies because most lead acts appear in support of the directors or independent producers.  So it is a chance to see your favorite local actors and...

When my mother shipped me alone by plane for my first out-of-town Christmas vacation when I was 10, our neighbors were aghast by her audacity.  It was almost a mortal sin if parents let their children out of their sight at that time.  If child abuse was a buzz word at that period, my mother would have faced a child abuse case from the Department of Social Welfare.  My mother was that kind of person.  She was ahead of her time.  She wanted her children to experience the things she did not experience having  married at the age of 18.  Love of traveling is actually one of the things I learned from my mother. Strumming the guitar might seem an old-fashioned hobby to some and can be boring to others.  I even know someone who thinks that strumming the guitar is a hobby of lonely people because that's how lonely people amuse themselves.  But I disagree, passionately.  Actually, I think strumming the guitar is neither old-fashioned or boring.  For me, it is a cool hobby as is playing other musical instruments.  I have always admired powerful people who play musical instruments like the former US President, Bill Clinton, who plays the sax.  It brings the more human, one-of-us side of him.  And when he jams with a band, he would look so cool, gray hair and all.
