The Benefits of Coffee

Image
I learned just today from the Boy Abunda and Kris Aquino's show (yes, Cathy, I do watch it sometimes) when I think their topic is healthy (and not just products of some ramblings of some you-know-what) I used to just throw away used  ground coffee after having my brewed coffee every morning, but after listening to Boy enumerate the other uses of coffee, I will be doing otherwise. According to their guest, the proprietor of F salon, you can use your coffee as: 1. Body scrub - just squeeze calamansi (Philippine lemon) and honey (as antibacterial), vanilla and water, to get desired consistency and voila!!!, you have instant body scrub. You can start applying and scrubbing your body with it. 2. Deodorizer - Put your used ground coffee in a container and place it inside your refrigerator. It will absorb undesirable smell (especially if you don't regularly clean your ref).

Let’s go a little Upscale: The Aromatherapy Wellness Haus

Cathy and I were supposed to enjoy the spa together but for reasons unbeknownst to me, she hied off to Baguio City leaving me no choice but go look for a spa within the Commonwealth area myself…and found one I did…Just across Ever Department store is the Royal Place that contains alternative shops to what we normally find at Ever. At the Royal Place, I stumbled into the Aromatherapy Wellness Haus where I availed of their aromatherapy massage in therapeutic oil which is said to be good for the respiratory system.

A Reason to go to San Jose: Skinline Day Spa and Salon

I have been to this establishment to enjoy their services, not once, but four times. I can vouch for their honest service, having tried them out and coming out, without feeling short-changed. I first tried their Cleopatra body-scrub a few months before I started blogging and found that paying P450 for that was not enough compared to the value of their service. I should have paid even more. From the very well-trained and fast workers, you would not have to worry you’d miss your appointments or not go home in time to make dinner because they start and finish at the promised hour without cutting short the process. They would give you what is due you, as far as service is concerned. Just one caveat, come early on a weekend if you are planning to avail three or more salon services to avoid the long queue during the middle of the day.

An invitation

I got into spa-ing (if there is such a verb) back in 2000 when the concept of wellness was slowly getting popular and people were becoming conscious of their health while utilizing natural means or natural ways of therapy. I remember visiting Manang Luz, a blind masseuse, regularly back then because I would feel muscle pains at my back and left part of my body and often engage her in a conversation just to pass time while she magically reduces my body pain with each stroke of her finger. To this day, I still visit Manang Luz. She, and her other blind companions would give massage services to people living within the UP Diliman area. It's been a strong 8 years.Because of the passion I have for massages and spas, I have decided to share my journey into the exciting world of spas by opening a new blog entitled: A Spa-cial Life, please come and visit at your pleasure.
